    Ak muzzle breaks.

Well I had a ak-74 style break on my Romanian ak and the muzzle climb was reduced a little, Then I slapped on a AK slant break and the stock kept slapping me in the face. It started to sting after a while. This was off the bench so I couldn't get a good shoulder with the short LOP. Anyone notice this? This problem never came up while out in the woods probably because I never shoot prone or bench rest while in the woods. Which one do you think works best?

From everything I've read and video comparissons I've watch the AK74 style seems to be the best for muzzle rise. I've been thinking of getting one, but personally my WASR-10 just has the thread protector on it and It doesn't jump bad at all from the bench or prone shooting...

I've heard the J-Tac47 is a pretty good muzzle brake. I've been thinking about getting one myself, but it is a bit costly. http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/v...5&idcategory=2 They have videos on the website to illustrate its effectiveness.

in my rifle, it feels as if the ak slant break gets me back on paper faster but at the cost of slapping me in the face. The ak74 break gets the people next to me mad, and I like that. Too bad my ak throws brass/steel forward and not to the side .

thanks, that is a little pricy.. expecially since a ak74 style break is 15 dollars

If the AKM slank brake was a better design, then that would have been used on the AK74. Since the AK74 uses a muzzle brake, and it's the latest and greated AK, it might be because Mikhail Kalashnikov knows what he's doing.

Makes sense to me. That's why I use an AK74 type brake on my AK type rifles.

yea.. Im gonna put away the slant break. Its poorly constructed (well mines was.). It was bored out with a lance or something. Anyway, im headed to sac valley, just gonna get some range time with my 22s cause I cant afford to even feed my ak right now. Ill be the guy in the green sweater(this is my range attire so don't judge me!).
