    6.5 Complete

I'm normally not one to show pics of my own stash,
but I like some gun porn just as much as the next guy.

FYI This is a MAWP reg'd lower.
    --edited for clarity--

Surprisingly enough I have no Grendel mags or ammo, so ignore the 5.56 PMag I dropped in.

Special thanks to EvolleP, for the barrel/bolt combo. Just got it back from Adco today.

Nah, he already said it's on a military permit.
That just means he can't keep it in CA when he's done with the military.

                    This is wrong.
If you are going to publicly call out the legality of my configuration. Please get your information correct.
Upon the time of completion of active-duty service, the registered firearm may be reconfigured into a non-aw configuration, by using a fixed magazine device.
Then fill out the corresponding form for the DOJ to inform them of the configuration change, and de-issue your MAWP.

If I choose to stay here, the only thing I couldn't really keep is the magazine release in the lower. ETA- and my full capacity mags

Also, a Dept letter does not make an AW legal.
The dept needs to OWN the gun for it to get an LEO reg letter.

uhhh-ooohhh here we go again. we just had a few pages on another thread about LEOs and AWs...

letters are usally given by the department to an officer to purchase an AW for work use only. I have not heard of the dept owning the weapon the way that you stated and giving/ allowing the officer to use the AW

A department can use a letter to purchase a firearm for the department, in which case it is not registered to the individual.

However, when an LEO is given a letter to purchase a listed weapon for themselves, they can register it in their name. At the time of purchase they are given a special assualt weapon registration form that they submit as the weapons owner. At that point the gun is legally registered to them just as it would be to a civilian who purchased and regd prior to 2000.
