I have a Browning 375 H&H with a 26" barrel. It has a Trijicon 2-10 scope mounted to it, but for the life of me (and two different gunsmiths), the damn thing won't stay zeroed.
I mean, the thing isn't just a little off, it's wildly inaccurate because the mounts to the rings takes so much tightening that it actually chews into the ring bases to the point where I've had to replace them twice. And it's not a matter of using lock-tight either. That's been done and done again. I tend to think it's the stock; the recoil is just too much for it.
However, I don't want to put the time and money into getting something like a McMillan to put on the thing. The cost would run somewhere in the $500-$600 range and this particular rifle just doesn't get enough use to justify that kind of money.
Anyway, with a 26" barrel I think a good set of open sights could make this rifle reliable and useable again. Any suggestions as to what kind I should use?
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
