    (Another) Sparrow Dynamics CRG Review

I finally made it to the range today, and thus felt comfortable giving this grip a review that went beyond “it looks awesome.”

The gun I shot with it on is a 16” Midlength BCM on a Palmetto lower. Boring gun, just reliable. I ran a couple hundred rounds of IMI 55gr - the one that has mixed reviews all over the web. FWIW, the ammo functioned perfectly.

Ergonomics - The angle of the grip is not as steep as the Liberal Arms grip, or even the Exile Machine Hammerhead. For anyone with small hands, this is probably ideal; however, I have huge hands and long fingers. I would like to see a steeper profile in the future, if Sparrow Dynamics decides to offer more options. This would offer just enough more to hold onto when manipulating the gun, during reloads for example.

The difference in feel compared to a Hammerhead while shooting the gun was negligible. The grip is comfortable and I enjoyed it.

Build Quality and Design - If Magpul made a featureless grip, this is what it would look like. That may seem like a bold statement, but I can’t think of a better way to describe it. The end product looks sharp and refined. While being very light, it feels solid and I would expect it to hold up as well as any other grip. Time will tell, and I do intend to abuse it enough to find out.

Overall, I’m thrilled with this grip. I truly believe it is the best looking option out there. I’m especially excited to see what Sparrow Dynamics does in the future. I would love to see more options - things like storage options and different angles. There’s a lot of potential with this already great design. It’s not going to replace the Hammerheads I have, but for the rest of the rifles I have that need to be converted, I will be ordering the CRG.

Thanks for the review. Were you able to wrap your thumb around with that fixed stock in place?
