I run Lantac Dragon on all my AR's. They work pretty well for me but I have little experience with others.

Best bang for your buck..strike industries j-Comp v2. Can be had for $35-40

I’ve ran Lantac, procomp, eBay and a few others. There was minimal difference in performance from the high end brakes to the cheaper ones. Where the more expensive ones outshined the cheap ones was in the finish and maybe looks “cool factor”.

$14 on ebay. Haven't shot with it yet, but consensus in another thread was that it was good, but extremely loud and may bother people in nearby lanes.
In case it wasn't obvious, nothing I write here should be interpreted as legal advice.

I decided to try this one out because it was so cheap. Significant improvement over the standard birdcage. Great for the followup second shot. But you're right, the shooters next to you aren't really happy. I try not to use this AR at the bench and when I do, I try to put some space between me and the next shooter.

I use Levang, Keneti-tech and Troy Claymores on my 5.56. That doesn't really have much recoil. The AR-47 has the brake, that gun can hurt without it.
