Century Arms vs Riley Defense AK47

    What do you think?

    Riley Defense or Century Arms?

Yes, I know I need to have it shipped to an FFL, yes I know I need to buy the CA compliant kit from Atlantic Firearms and I wont be getting a 30rd mag. If anyone knows of a comparable AK47 for the same price in stock at a gun shop in Sacramento I'll buy it there.

I'm definitely leaning towards the Century and was hoping for clarification on the reliability of them since I wasn't sure if they ONLY import or if they manufacture too. Serbian import seems like a legit deal but wasn't sure if that's what Century was getting a bad wrap for. If WASR was available in Sac for this price there wouldn't be a need for this thread, lol.

      Thanks!

Reilly Defense has decent reviews on YouTube. Specs are GTG (forged trunnion, chrome-lined barrel). Made in U.S.A. with no bad press that I'm aware of.

Serb AK aftermarket furniture can be a challenge. I'd read this on receiver metal issues OP: http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=286656

The second rifle you have linked to is not made by century, it is made in Yugoslavia and imported by century.

Century Arms makes their own AK style firearms and imports AK style firearms from other countries.

            The imported firearms are good.
The manufactured firearms are not good.

            Current imports...
            N-PAP = imported from Serbia.
            RH-10 = imported from Romania.
            WASR-10 = imported from Romania.

            Current manufacturings...
            AK63DS = Hungarian parts kit
C39V2 = "all" USA made parts
RAS47 = "all" USA made parts

All the imported AK style firearms are imported into the USA in a "sporting use" configuration, then Century Arms modifies them out of the "sporting use" configuration.
Modifications typically include widening the magazine well, replacing the foregin made trigger parts with USA made parts, replacing the foregin made furniture (stocks/grips) with USA made parts.

Get an Arsenal instead. It will be the last AK you ever buy, so spend extra now to prevent regret later.

Yugoslavia does not exist anymore. The rifles are made in Serbia.

Im a known PRO century firearms owner...
I own at least a dozen milsurp weapons they have made and never had any issues. But all of them were built on foreign kits that were de milled.
But with that said I would not touch the Century built AK with a ten foot pole.

It's suppose to lock down the top cover (make it more secure).

Friend had his fall out of his N-PAP after 60 rounds. YMMV.

It keeps the top cover on and bolt carrier/bolt secure when launching grenades on the military version of rifle.

Atlantic, has a ban state Wasr in stock. Just have them put on a grip wrap. It does have a welded on thread protector.
