    CAI - WASR 10's

Reading forums it's generally understood that these WASR-10s are of low quality. After all, they are bottom of the price range. Question is, what specifically are the problems they have? I have a chance to get a WASR-10 for 500 or a Arsenal SGL20 for 1000...I hear the Arsenal's are of great quality...I'd like to hear some feedback on both from actual owners. Thanks.

I bought one from DD's ranch last year and it works great.

All the Century Romanian guns are "poor" quality fit and finish. You aren't buying a nice hunting rifle with a walnut stock after all, it's a combloc beater made from bent sheet metal and plywood finished with God knows what kind of varnish.

That being said, all the ones I've seen and used worked excellently. Just make sure the one you're getting has been looked over for obvious problems like a canted front sight or gas block and it should be fine.

Had mine for awhile, no failures ever, accurate to 300yrds minute of man. I heard the horror stories as well but purchased anyway because it looked ok in person. The stock is pretty crappy... but it's an AK if you want a pretty gun build an AR.

I bought a WASR-10 from Henderson Defense about 5-6 months ago. Theirs are "certified", so they go through and check for canted sights and other common problems that WASR's are infamous for. They are not the prettiest rifles out there, but as far as function goes it works flawlessly. Accuracy is fine for what it is as well.

Get the Arsenal SGL20, its basically a real Russian AK. Plus if you ever wanted to resell, the value will be way up there compared to a Wasr. If you will never sell it, still get the Arsenal SGL20. I wanted one but couldnt find one when i had the $$. Buy it and then i will buy it off you in a couple of months

Yep. My WASR10 works just fine. I bet that it is a more accurate representation of the average issue AK than some of the expensive examples that have almost perfect fit and finish. I guess, it depends on what you want! The bottom line is WASR10s work as well but don't look as nice.
