Pin your M4 stock for $0.85 (CA tax included)

Went to Home Depot after breakfast today and picked up a 79 cent bag of nuts and a 79 cent bag of bolts then came home and pinned two M4 stocks for 85 cents each in about 10 minutes with a Dremel tool.

Photos shows exact bag of parts. I have one extra T-nut since there were 3 in the pack, but if you & a friend had 6 stocks to do then no extra parts brings price down to 71 cents per stock (Calif sales tax included).

This DIY does require a vice and dremel tool kit to trim down the T-nut. So if you don't have those then

If you want to use the last position on the stock then just trim the T-nut all the way to an L-nut.

Just thought these photos would help a few of you see how easy it is to DIY and not spend $10 on an aftermarket item. I know this has been discussed before but I'm not very good with the search tool on this forum.

I did the same as the OP...kinda

But vise grips work as well as a vice
and Ace hardware was $0.65 per in stainless steel
No tape needed on my t-nut

I also left the adjustment levers on for appearance
by allowing an extra couple mm in bolt length...

Edit: with the spring assemblies removed...the adjustment levers do nothing
as they are snugged tight with the new bolt...you can try to manipulate them
till the cows come home as they wont budge

Go ahead...let your eyes deceive you...looks completely like an adjustable butt stock

    Also completely reversible

Here is the Magpul version of this trick.

1/4-20 T-Nut. (Fits buffer tube adjustment holes perfect, no electrical tape needed.
          1/4-20 1" Cap screw
3/4" Steel spacer. Or a cut and drilled spent 223/5.56 case.

Make your T-Nut into an L/Boot Nut to fit the buffer tube for all positions and use these to replace the stock pin/spring assembly.
