    Pic Request

    Hello everyone,

I'm building a new rifle, and would love to see everyone else's builds. I'm specifically looking to see how a 14.5 inch barrel would look with a 10 inch handguard. Looking forward to see all the awesome setups!

I thought the shortest legal barrel on a rifle was 16".

I neglected to mention that I would be pinning and welding a muzzle brake on the end to bring the total length to 16".

That's a beauty. How long of a barrel is that?

Not the exact specs you're looking for, but here's my YHM Diamond Specter upper with 10" rails and 16" barrel. I am actually getting ready to sell this rifle.

Just to add....my Daniel Defense with 14.5" barrel but with 13.5" handguards. In my own personal opinion I like the longer handguards a little better because I can extend the grip on my support hand out further which feels a bit more stable to me.

14.5" barrel with pinned and welded suppressor mount. 10" handguard. It's a 80% home build.

One question for everyone, if I pin and weld a muzzle device on a barrel, does it still count as a muzzle device? As in, can I legally pin and weld a flash hider to my barrel and still have it be featureless?

If it's a flash hider, it doesn't matter how it's attached; it's still a flash hider. So, no go.

14.5" barrel silver soldered. Less than five pounds unloaded.

Agreed. I have an older DDm4v7 upper with the 12" modular rail and it feels short compared to my 14.5" with a 13.5" rail. Personally, I think a 9" or 10" rail would feel too short for my preference but I am not overly experienced and to each their own.
