    No, rate of fire has nothing to do with any type of mechanism that actually causes the firing. It is simply a given number of discharges per unit of time. It would not matter if the firearm were a single shot, lever gun, or some type of machine gun that used electric current to ignite propellant charges.

      There isn't a rate of fire. You pull the trigger and one round is fired.
      Done. You cannot measure the interval of time to the next shot because there will not be one without an additional trigger pull.
