Barrett .416 ammo

Ah well, if you went down the .416 Barrett road you might as well learn how to reload. It's the only way you'll be able to push that caliber enough to make it worth it and not break the bank. It's still going to be expensive, however, but not too bad compared even to .50BMG. It's still a relatively new caliber so components and load data are going to be scarce.

I can still reload 50BMG ammo for under $1/round using surplus projos, reclaimed powder and some IMI primers and surplus brass I bought real cheap. Even if I had to buy everything at today's prices, both the bullets and the brass would cost A LOT more for .416 than for .50s and be much harder to find. I'll assume that the powder and primers would be a wash though.
