AR57 Upper, Any Ideas For A Maglock?

I guess I am not that worried about it for my liability sake. I just figure if there is a readily available bullet button more people will want to buy them. The fact that they are built and ready to ship is a major plus. But then people have to worry about making them CA legal, and were to find 10-rd mags...as after a day of searching online I was not able to find them in stock anywhere...and none of my many suppliers stock them.

Removing a flash hider without a vise block is not exactly easy, but can be done with a little elbow greese. And there are plenty of CA legal muzzel devices out there. It's just the bullet botton is so darn simple for the standard AR that is dummie proof. It would be nice to offer something similar. I guess nothing is perfect.

Oh, and if anybody knows of anybody that has PS90 10-rd mags in stock I would appriciate a heads up. I would like to know where to send people if asked.

And I very much appriciate it. For my own build, it will be very helpful. I was just hoping for a solution that came in a box, with no additional work for the general public who has no skill at using tools, that they could do in their sleep. The Bullet Button is that solution for the standard AR. The simplier the solution, the more people will want to do it. If it comes in a box, and no tools but an allen wrench are required...it sells better. But again, life is not perfect! And I very much appriciate your tips and instructions.

If you had something like that, I would be more than willing to buy them from you. I could easily make maglocks myself...but I paid Prince50 for his because it was worth it to me not to have to do it myself, and he came up with the idea and deserved to reap the reward for his invention. I buy his bullet buttons now as they are more popular. But he definately gets paid for them.

So if you had a boxed solution I would happily pay you for them rather than try and recreate them myself. If you invent a marketable product, you deserve to get paid for it.

From the description, it sounds like you're not all the way there. It still requires some machining on the end users part. Which is better than fine. Many people, including myself, will be more than capable of doing that. Or maybe I am just picturing it wrong?

It would be nice to have something that requires less effort on their part.

P.S. <Hint> You'll have to take apart the top rail that is held on by 2 allen head bolts which have red loc tite on them. They are a sunuvabeech to take out.

No worries I made it for myself because I wanted it badly enough. If I were to make them for $$$ it would take away from my shooting time I sent Prince50 my thoughts also. Maybe you and him can work something out Good Luck!

I thought I would revive this thread and see if anybody has come out with a commercial maglock for these yet?

57center.com has 50 round mags for $30 in stock. You could buy a few and modify to 10 rounds and resell with a slight markup.
My AR57's barrel is 16.04 inches without the muzzle device.

I appriciate the effort but that does not really help. I already sell 50 round magazines for out of staters and 10 round magazines are commerically available.

Now we need a maglock for these to become more popular here in CA. A few people will want featureless...but if there was a maglock they would move like hotcakes. That's what happened with regular ARs.

So I am trying to see if anybody has taken this on yet.
