    Brake/Compensator Suggestions

I bought a used FN SPR that has a threaded muzzle - will accept any AR 10 type brake/comp/FH. Not that it's really needed in 308, but I figure why not use it. Any suggestions on a good compensator or brake? I've already use the Armalite 2 port on an AR 10, a Miculik on an AR 15 and a JTAC on a 7.62X39 AR. They all seem to work pretty much the same.

Does Surefire make one for the 308 threads & is it worth the extra $$$? It's not as though I'll be doing any fast follow up shooting or double taps, but maybe I can stretch my comfortable shooting day a bit.

By the way, nice pick of armament. You get the A1, 2 or 5?

Yes, saw those in Brownells. The DSA pictured is threaded for the FAL - LH 9/16X24 - but I'd presume their AR version is the 5/8X24. I've got a Steyr brake on my DSA, came close to getting the DNTC.

I notice comps seem to float around $35.00 for some, next price point seems to be $55.00 to $60.00 and then there's Surefire - at $150.00 or so.

Got the A1 with the 20" barrel. Spent a few hrs working on the trigger to get it to my liking, all in all a neat little gun I think.

              I don't see it for AR 10 - 5.56 only?

Man I thought they made one for both.
there has to be that style made by someone.
The a AK 74 is known as one of the most controllable rifle in full auto
and it's due to that brake and not the action.
I had one on my Ar15 and it made a huge difference.

I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

These are hands down the best comp ever made! I wish I had one for every gun. I just wish they weren't so expensive so I can
I use the FSC30 on my AR10. My bench neighbors don't like me when I shoot next to them. The blast from the muzzle is crazy loud and powerful but it makes my AR10 feel like I'm shooting my AR15

They make them in FSC556 (AR15), FSC30 (AR10, FSC47 (AK), and FSC Custom (FAL, HK91, AR10, AR15 and more using the thread adapters).

This FSC556 Tactical Compensator has all of the compensation of the standard DNTC compensator combined with enough flash suppression to keep the flash out of your optics and line of sight.

This device has been classified as a non-flash suppressing device by the BATFE. See the document here.

The new POF brakes aren't too bad:

I'm using one of these on my AR-15 currently. It's pretty effective, and more importantly it doesn't scatter a bunch of debris back towards the shooters face when shooting from prone.

Thumbs up on ak-74 style brake. Don't waste your money on a Surefire as they are an adapter/muzzle brake for their sound suppressor, which we can't have in Kali.

Interesting - the JP and the FSC are the two I've really looking at. The JP would (or should per their suggestion) be blended to the barrel contour but the FSC, having a rounded rear end, can just be screwed on. Minor issue is that my barrel diameter is a touch over .875 and the 308 crush washer is listed as .810 diameter, so I think that might look a bid odd, having that gap there. I'm thinking that a black rubber "O" ring slipped over it would fill the gap & look fine also.

I had an FSC556 and took I off. It is a good break but not much different then my AK74 one. I have gone with a Vortex at this point no flash no return fire I know the FSC claims to do both but I does not compare to a Vortex when it comes to flash suppression or I should say elimination.

How much blast are we talking about with the FSC? More than other brakes? MUCH more than other brakes? I'm looking at getting one but don't want to be discourteous to my shooting lane neighbors...
