I went to the Pasadena store last year to pick up a S&W 4" M1917 .45 and was told, "We won't be getting any more of those in." They called and found one at the Chino Hills store, so I ended up picking it up from them instead. One week later, I stop by the Pasadena store on the way home from work and, lo and behold, they got two more S&W 4" M1917's in the display case.

The now closed Riverside store (Indiana Avenue) was notorious for not showing the price of products on the floor, especially in the fishing department. I lose the urge to buy when it takes 20 minutes for me to get someone to tell me how much it costs. just my .02!

I've purchased 4 major items at Turner's Pasadena (2 handguns, rifle and a gun safe). EVERY one of those transactions left me saying "never again."

For EVERY firearm I bought, the gun I picked up after my 10 day wait was NOT the gun I DROSED. Yes sir, every time. All my paperwork shows they submitted revised SNs at a later date. I don't know what the deal is...LEO that has to have it now, or what, but that's flat out ridiculous.

And the safe...well, that's another rant entirely.

I've done quie a few PPTs at Turner's in Pasadena, and bought a few guns from them, both new and on consignment. Haven't had any problems. I guess, it's subjective.

I've been there a few times and bought my Remington 870 there. My experience depended on who I spoke with. A couple guys were rude and gave smart a** responses. But one of the guys there was really helpful and even told me to check out the calguns site.

Not Pasadena, but I recently bought a Remington 700 from the West Covina store. Doing the paperwork was a great experience, guy was talkative and friendly. Might have had to do with the fact that he was a friend of the guy I was in there with, but he and the other guy behind the counter were pretty good as far as customer service go.

Now pick up day comes and I've been spoiled by good service. I go to pick up and the guy kind of haphazardly gets the box out, hands me the gun and says to "make sure it's all there..." I check it and it's fine. Finish the paperwork and he says I'm all done and he walked off with my gun halfway in the open box. I stood there for a minute or two and he told me I was good to go. So I packed the gun back in the box, bought my rifle case and left.

I'm really starting to not like these bigger chain stores.

I guess it depends on who you spoke to. I went to a Turner's here in Reseda. I was looking for an ammo that was on sale and didn't have a problem. I went back the second time for the same item and wallllaaa...... a guy gave me a head to toe look when I asked for that same ammo.

I can't generalize the whole storewise. IMO it would depend on each employee who works there.

I also had problems at the Pasadena store, the clerks there seem to be rude and usually simply dont know the answers to questions. Kind of sucks since I left in a huff and drove to the west covina store to pick up the 870 I wanted.

I have to say that my expierence at west covina was swell. The people there were fast, knew what I needed to know and generally it was a good expierence.

Some guys at Turners look like they are missing a screw or have a loose screw. I just never go to Norwalk Turners.

Turners is going out of business. They have been put on COD by their suppliers and the major distributers have shut them off. Look at their current sales. They are liquilidating all their floor models.

My friend works for one of the largest gun distributers in the country and they have cut them off due to non payment. As have others.

                              Wow...that bad???

Sad to hear as I used to be an employee of the Pasadena Turners. Back in the early 90's. The Gun dept was awesome, each one of us had a speciality. There was a big guy that was the Smith and Wesson revolver guy, I was the military styled rifle guy, this big Indian (as Native American, not Ghandi type) was the bolt gun (kinda fitting as he was a sniper during Vietnam, and a the manager was a dork, but was the son of a Vietnam frogman. So he knew his stuff too.

Real sad to hear it sucks now, had a lot of good times there.
