mounting a scope

what are the gunsmiths that mount scopes in northern california? i have a remington 700P with a leupold scope.

Mounting a scope is a DIY job... just do not over torque the rings.

Insert the long end of the allen wrench in the screw and turn until the short end "hurts" a little in your fingers. Better yet, get a in/lb screwdriver and torque to 20 in/lbs.

Ya, as Tony stated, mounting a scope is a do it yourself job. I know of a couple places that offer the service for like $30. It's very simple to do if you have a one piece base, and still very easy with a 2 piece. Easiest way is with a level, base, and boresighter. If you need any help, send me a PM.

I did it myself and its pretty easy. Just make sure you dont use red loctite on your screws, use the blue loctite. I used blue loctite and its held zero for years!

If you don't want to do it yourself, call J&G Gunsmiths in Granite Bay, CA.

They are good people, and fantastic 'smiths who will not have a problem mounting that for you for probably $30.00.

i was hoping to get the rings lapped. i've read some very good instructions but i don't trust myself.
