Just ordered a addax gas piston upper in 6.8 spc

I just ordered this. I pick it up in about 4 months. I can wait im in no hurry I have my lmt ar-15 to play with for now.

I asked for it in an 18 inch barrel config as it will mostly be a bench gun. I probably wont be running any classes with it.

I'm just curious if anyone has the same upper with the 16 inch barrel and how do you like it?

I will be attaching it to a grizzly lar lower.

Wow, that's some serious cash! I have piston envy now...

I know it's some serious cash, but the whole set up is nice and I dont have to pay for it for 4 months, so plenty of time to save up.

You will be VERY happy (except for AMMO costs!)

Hey thanks for the photos and letting me know I will love it X. I'm not too worried about costs. I have plenty of powder and plenty of primers, all i need is brass, dies and bullets, which i can buy slowly over the next 4 months

You will KNOW you fired a rifle. Addax's gas system tames the wild beast. Shooting the 6.8 makes me sad that the Army will probably never get it adopted.

Any suggestion for a stock for this setup? Should I go with an A2 style stock or will the 80 dollar 6 position adjustable work? i really don't want to spend 200 on just a stock and the A2 will probably give me a better cheek weld.

Since you have used the platform I look to your for a suggestion

Wow that is cool. I think your upper is gonna be tooo nice to use just a plain A2 stock. Maybe you should go with a Vltor stock. I think you can get the whole kit for under $188. at riflegear. You need something special for that upper. I say go with Vltor or even an Ace skeleton. The Ace skeleton isnt adjustable but it has that nice foam cover that feels nice to your cheek. I have the shorty Ace skeleton and i love it. It feels more solid than any other stock. Also one other stock that would look really nice is the Magpul CTR.

Tuck that chicken wing in and square up to your target...

Do not go cheap now, a collapsable stock adds flexability to your weapon system... you can get a Magpul MOE CTR for 80 or less, and a milspec carbine buffer tube / spring / buffer/ end plate / lock ring for 40 bucks or so...

jksupply company has them... i know I just picked some up for the GFs AR.

Remember you have 4 months to save, so dont skimp on your stock. You dont have to go over $200 but with the ACE and Vltor you can still be way under $200.

I tried both the magpul ctr and the voltor emod on my AT&T AR. The voltor was more suited and comfortable for this type of build. At least that's my preference. We're all made different, but the voltor offered more cheek weld.
