I recently took possession of a new Mini-30 Tactical, part #5868. It was shipped to my dealer in CA who has a permit to receive magazines that hold over ten rounds. Those were easily pinned.
The other necessary chore was to REMOVE the factory flash hider. This was done by an intermediate dealer before it could be shipped to CA.
Once I took it home, I modified the flash hider by turning it down in a lathe to remove the vane section, in essence turning it into a custom thread protector.
All this wasn't exactly cheap, but I imagine it less expensive than shortening, re-crowning, and finally re-mounting the front sight.
