Looking at some BCM uppers. Any recommendations?

    Hey Guys,

I'm looking at some BCM uppers (mid length) and there are like 25 options to choose from. The only difference i can see between all of these is that the rails are different lengths and brands. Any particular rail systems that you guys prefer or are they all the same.

Also....what type of charging handle do ya'll suggest. Small, medium, or large latch? or even Ambi?

    Thanks!

they have at least 6-7 different barrel types.
Anything but stainless would make me smile. The BFH is their "best".

      Grab a 14.5 ELW with a perm brake. A 16" ELW and 20".

      You'll enjoy them all

I own one of the BCM BFH (Mid-length) 16" ELW uppers with the 15" KMR-A handguard. I love their ambi charging handle and can personally recommend it.

I'm going to buy another BCM upper when they release their M-LOK upper receivers, hopefully this year. Quality product!

The differences are also in the barrel profiles, fluted, and if they are hammer forged (BFH) or not. Depends on what you want. I wanted to go lighter with mine and got an ELW. And I went with the handguard length that was the shortest that could still accommodate my fully extended hold. For me that is 13".

Even the cheapest stripped upper is great. If you have the money then BFH barrel. Their stainless stuff is good too. I would go with a Block rail if available. As for the latch I personally like the medium. The large is too big and if you carry it on a sling it will rub against and unlatch as you are walking. BCM is a great manufacturer. Great quality and good prices.

I bought a 16" bfh upper and a 14.5" with kmr and have been happy with both. I couldn't believe how light the 14.5 with elw barrel was. It felt like a toy when I took it out of the box.

Looks like they are offering a free comp with their uppers right now. Not quite as good as the free bcg deal they use to have but it's something.

My advice to just buy an SR-15 upper.... buy once and cry once , well until you get addicted and buy a couple more KAC uppers

One thing that sucks is i took a look at their comp and its advertised as reducing flash. I have a feeling it wouldn't pass as just a compensator....

My chrome lined MRP will outshoot a stainless Mod H BCM upper. IMO, stainless is overrated especially if you dont handload. Ive had stainless in the past, as well as 5R rifled stainless barrels. I still choose chrome lining. If your rifle is meant to be a blaster, just go chrome lined

Buy mine? Standard 16" lightweight with a UTG superslim freefloat and a discontinued Levang linear compensator. BCM BCG plus a railed gas block.
Approximatly 800 rounds shot, give me $300.

I previously had a BCM standard 16" mid-length lightweight upper. Really smooth.
