    ar15 issues

I got a new upper from PSA, which has a 20" FN barrel, put a new RTB NB BCG, on a seekins lower with a SSA-E trigger

ammo I have been running is aguila 5.56 62gr brass

first trip to range, 50 ish rounds, bcg gets stuck in lugs after firing round and will not cycle with charging handle. Get it home, remove upper and it came free, but wouldnt at the range. casing fell in with other ones so I couldnt tell which one it was (I suspect what happened was the same thing on trip 2)

after I clean it and put it back together and function test fails, I find a primer in the trigger assembly

    trip 2,
round 30 ish, light strike fail to fire but clear indent into the primer
round after 100 ish rounds exact same problem as trip number one
I get it home this time and take careful care taking it apart, but first I had to hit the forward assist with a mallet to remove the upper.
I found a primer in between the cam pivot pivot pin and the bc that was inhibiting it from moving to clear the lugs.
and found a loose primer in the upper and lower
inspected the brass I took home and found 4 with no primer
I cant see any damage on the upper, bcg, or barrel extension

side issue, note how dirty the BCG is, is this because its NIB? my only other NIB is on a piston ar15 so I cant compare symptoms. I clean and lube this ar15 with breakfree clp, and super light on the oiling.

Is this an ammo issues or a head pressure issue or?

Have you only tried one type of ammo?

I'd cycle through other types especially if its brand new (to find out which ammo it groups with best or sufficiently well enough).

Blown primer hints at excess chamber pressure, check headspace.

That's not the most high quality ammo.

I've tried it, it's garbage ammo. I actually gave about 30 round away to some guys shooting next to me when I got Mini 14 level groups with it out of my AR.

I have also used pmc xtac with no issues, which leads me to believe it's ammo. But I haven't had this issue running the same ammo in my other rifles

Not every rifle is the same.

Maybe bring to a gunsmith or gunshop, that has some gauges!

Look at the damage your extractor is doing to those shells.

I would try some standard PMC< run a 100 rounds and see if you have the same issue. Also did you notice your ejection pattern? 1 , 3 , 5 oclock?

As some have said try different ammo. If that doesn't work may be possible headspace issue, gotta determine why you're blowing primers. Seems to be over charged ammo those extractor marks are excessive for sure. Clean your bcg and your CHAMBER and try again...... I doubt that there's any issue with your upper, it from PSA. I mean, it's just not possible

HS gages won't find a tight neck or short throat, which can cause that. HS won't blow primers.

Could be ammo. More likely ammo i say.

I'd suspect the ammo first, have you tried different kinds?
