458 Socom build

What are reputable and good parts companies for a 458 Socom? Also, 14.7 or 16' barrel?

X2 on tromix. I got one of their complete uppers. Very happy with it.

Joe Bob Outfitters. I got one of their complete uppers and have been happy with it. I built it as a hog gun. Runs 100% of the time and accurate enough to make me confident of hits out to 100 yards. It is expensive to feed, though. I reload but need to get more brass.

Another vote for Tromix. Also avoid Radical Firearms, their build quality is shoddy at best, and I believe they didn't properly license the 458 socom design. Also they went off the rails when they didn't receive a favorable review from Primary & Secondary about their build quality.

Anyone have any opinions on Rock River Arms? I noticed they're running a 20% off special on uppers, including .458 SOCOM.

My upper had a regular brake, I'm not an engineer by any stretch but I felt the barrel walls were a little thin to be putting a compensator on it and worried about it stressing the barrel since it applies a downward force without an opposite force like a brake would.

I have a Rock river upper and love it of course I ve had awhile. w/ 14.5inch barrel with MB welded on

Rock river and tropic are the two licensed to build to spec from my recollection. Have the best reviews for quality from what I've seen too.
