Does it concern you that they are making you a custom chamber?
If so; is it because you don't have a "Go To" Brass brand?
Do you think sending a few rounds of ammo is illegal?

It might be better for you to air your concerns, instead of a bunch of guessing.

Sounds like they wanna make sure the chamber fits your handloads.

I think it is a unique opportunity to participate in the testing and development of the new barrel. It should help ensure it aligns with your ammunition choices and can allow the maker to perform fault analysis rather than continuing along the path of an inferior product.

        I only see win.

I would also think that their is no liability since this is a licensed (It is, isn't it?) firearms manufacturer. It would be hard to prove negligence.

Send inert rounds without primer or powder. Sounds like they want to make sure they're making the chamber to spec and avoid more wasted resources. Plus you get a correct chamber for your particular handloads.

Why would you want to continue pursuing anything from a company who has given you two bad barrels already?
Custom is supposed to imply extremely high levels of quality control. Doesn't sound like they're meeting that criteria. I'd be moving on to another shop.

I did it a few months ago. Got a perfect barrel back from KKM. I'm curious what the concerns are?

If you ask what they will do with the ammo, it might help ease your concerns.
Also, don't you think that they want the ammo for almost the same reason?
You want to measure it to know it's correct.
They want to measure it so they make it correct.
which entity has a more critical job? The manufacturer.
                      A big difference indeed.

Pretty much what I was going to say...

Send them a couple rounds in a few cases sized with your dies and topped with the projectile of your choice.

Maybe a small range with different seating depths?

Leave the primer and powder out of it if you are that concerned.

What type of wildcat are we talking about here? Hopefully its something cool like a 7mm-300 Win Mag.

If no powder or primers can send usps priority save money.

Pac-Nor requested I send them 3 "dummy" 6mmBR handloads to check neck diameter and throat for the 107 Nosler CC's I use. Sounds like your barrel shop is trying to get it right.

Just send the ammo, you are worrying about the wrong thing.

You should be worried about whether you are ever going to get a decent barrel from them.

Nothing to lose IMO. Send an email disclaimer about your loaded ammo.
