you mean the bolt catch, right?
there is no roll pin associated w/ the mag catch.
the bolt catch roll pin is 0.093" diameter (3/32") and 0.437" (7/16") long

So what's wrong with the pin?

I'm really not a fan of pounding away on the things (trigger pin also) so I always dress mine down with a fine file. Not too much, just enough to remove the finish plus a bit more. And I bevel the edges for easier fit.

normally in kits ive used before i get a roll pin that has a fairly heavy wall with a single seam in the middle. this is the first RRA kit ive used and the roll pin is some thin metal rolled a few times and the edges are all tore up where the seam is and the seam is all jack'd up. so im going to get the other style tomorrow. usually a little lube and a little finese with channel locks and it glides right in.

went to the hardware store they had some 1/2" long ones which were still plenty short enough to go in and not stick out of the ends. came home and it went right in and 10 min later i have an assembled noveske lower!

ah so they included a spiral roll pin....
you may have gotten a funky one but in general i've heard good things about them vs. conventional roll pins. only used them a few times myself in various sizes and applications, so i don't have a big enough sample size to make a verdict, but i've never had problems with them.
as mentioned in another post, if you work with these things alot, dedicated roll pin punches are quite effective, and the roll pin starter punches are a good thing too.
but for the bolt catch, the vise grip/channel lock trick works well too

yw congrats on another successful assembly!

I really dont like driving the whole thing in with a punch cause your swinging a hammer or hitting next to the lower even with tape its still sketchy!
