Thinking of selling my USC/UMP welded conversion - Am I crazy?

I have a HK USC that's been professionally converted to a sporter UMP45 (full weld job, vent cuts, folding stock hanger, etc) from Tom Bostic of TommyBuilt. I love shooting this carbine but I've been thinking of offloading this featureless beast for something else, just don't know what else to replace this with.

A Kriss is not in my future, ever.

If you've ever attended the Pala steel match in the last few years, you've likely seen me compete in the carbine class and beat many of the 22lr and 9mm AR competitors with this carbine.

    From 2012:

Am I nuts? Should I just keep it as a safe queen?

I have a second USC featureless that's not a full weld job. This is also multi-cal at 9 and 45ACP, and I have the UMP folding stock block plus the ACR conversion stock block as well, so I have multiple options on this one.

I also bought a Sig MPX9 last year that is converted to featureless. I'm also waiting on the 357SIG and 40S&W conversions to be available from SIG for the G2 MPX.

I have a TBostic UMP.. GREAT gun and you will regret selling it. It's as close to the real deal as we will ever get

It's better than a Kriss, no sure why you would want to sell it.. I'm keeping mine with the goal of SBC'ing it when I move to a free state

And yea, you're nuts.. shoot it, no safe queen! lol

This is Calguns, so the obligatory response is "Never sell any gun".

With that out of the way...

I had 2 HK USC rifles back in the day. One was converted, one was stock. Sold them both, never regretted it.

Personally, I don't believe in safe queens. Just "owning" a gun isn't fun to me. Trying and shooting new guns is.

HOWEVER, If you still love shooting it, no reason to sell it.

Haven't gotten a chance to shoot one but always thought it was expensive for a plastic gun. They aren't designed to last forever? Somehow I think glocks are built better but probably wrong.

Usually sell if you don't enjoy shooting it or never shoot it. Want to buy something new and don't want to or can't add room for another one. Just didn't like it after buying it and trying it out, didn't live up to the hype.

Since they don't import them anymore maybe it would be good to sell and get more than you have into it. Most times barely break even on what I spent so better to enjoy it before passing it on.

man, i wish i had this problem...
I've actually been wanting to get a 45acp carbine, and liked the USC over the generally available Kriss Vector(too weird for me) or Thompson gun (too heavy). Shopped for an HK USC, came close to buying, then realized just too rich for my blood.

oh and btw, OP, your vid doesn't work/play.

I did the UMP conversion to my USC myself.. Super easy and I'm happy with the end results. It's a tack driver too even with just irons. HKparts.net has all the replacement and aftermarket parts for the USC/UMP. I think in the future I'm going to order the HDPS 8" threaded barrel and send in the form to SBR it (in az)

Pistol caliber carbines are just plain fun. cough cz scorpion cough

I had the original .45 kriss vector, was a jam-o-matic. It didn't blow my skirt up, the recoil was actually pretty harsh (kicks much harder then any .45acp carbine I've shot) was weird to hold, and take apart. Wasn't for me. Sold it quick.

I'd never sell a gun that's going to cost more to buy back than I'd get for selling it.

Or the way Ca is going, I dunno why anyone would sell their guns while in this state. Next thing you know the damn thing will be banned and won't be able to get it. They are more of an investment to just hold onto them. But thats just me.

While I love my MPX and really would like the ability to convert it to 357sig or .40 I doubt we will see it any time soon.
