    SHTF Setup

Hi guys. I understand an AR has to be compliant. But can one have hardware (not installed) be in the same gun case as the rifle?

Meaning if one has a compliant grip and a low capacity magazine, and in the gun case also sits a normal pistol grip and spring and hardware to turn a low capacity magazine into a standard capacity (30) round... would that be breaking any laws?

I figure when SHTF (say a big quake or looting is going on) it would only take 2 minutes to de-neuter, all the legal issues fly out the window when it comes to trying to stay alive.

The standard mags. are supposed to be permanently blocked to low capacity.

Not sure how you would explain that if discovered.

Radlock's are on several of my pre-2017 AR's; turn the screw inside enough times and it functions like a standard magazine release.

I was pretty sure that Zombies don't plan on attacking until May 26th, 2217. This is of course just days before the Asteroid, known as Bennu (formerly known as 1999 RQ36), collides with earth. By then, California will have already split away from the US due to a severe earthquake (8.5?) in the year 2056....fortunately zombies can't swim.

I already lost my boat and all my firearms in a tragic boating accident; no need for me to venture the ocean anymore.

I don't understand why you would need to add stuff to your gun. If I took my AR to a free state I would be removing stuff. The wraparound grip fin is unscrewed with a flat head screwdriver & underneath that is the regular grip. The mag block would be removed from the magazine. The same springs and follower are used anyway so no need to change any of that.

And in CA all that compliance stuff would be installed without any random extra bits lying around.

Basically my question, Is the state of a standard magazine being assembled... is that what makes it illegal?

Supposing one has them taken apart. You have both 10 and 30 round springs. Again, the magazine and it's parts are not assembled. Is that legal?

I'm also asking because it appears that one can order the parts (not an assembled standard magazine) and shipped to Cali.

So your saying the configurations can be changed? No SHTF
