I make a wrap for the L1A1. Just add the wrap and remove the flash hider and then you are good to go. No permanent modifications or welding needed and let's the next owner decide how they want to configure it

I had the same rifle, registered pre-ban from the 90's and yes I had to sell it out of state.Comment

Mine was ~ $300 with new mounting hardware and the original hardware was included. I'd advise haunt the FAL Files until you find one. I've got no idea what they're going for lately.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

I wonder why DSA went through the trouble of welding that little bead in the receiver when they were selling the CA legal fixed mag STGs (That is what I have, and how I know of the weld).
It wasn't much trouble to remove, a quick dremel, and a file to finish and viola.
However, your way just makes so much sense.
This is exactly how I blocked the plunger on my old Sage M1A Mod ) stock.
I am running my little OSW featureless, but if I go back to a stripper clip config (Acog is blocking it now) I will certainly go this way about things.
So much easier.sigpic

My FAL's were not registered in California as "AW's" (my choice)...I saw the idea on the FAL Files and posted it here since it is quick, cheap, and no welding involved.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

I think you describe 'disassembling the mag catch' (yes and bolt release), not the action.Comment
