    How much have you invested?

How much do you have invested in yours?
    Reality has set in -

Frontier Armory Side charge upper $210.00
    Frontier Armory Glock Lower $159.00
    Frontier Armory Bolt $159.00
    Circle10 40SW Barrel $140.00
Slashes Heavy Buffer & Wolf Rifle spring $ 75.00
    Geissele SSAE Trigger $180.00
BAD Short throw safety $ 51.96
BAD Extended bolt release $ 27.30
Seekins mag release button $ 3.90
    Wolf 45 ACP Glock Brake $ 00.00
    Thorsen FRS 15 Stock $127.50
Miscellaneous pins, springs and SHT Approx $ 25.00
    FFL Transfer / Paper work $ 55.00
Clymer Go / No Go Gauge set $ 39.00
    Grand figin total $1337.66

1.5 years collecting components for this assembly.
Prices include shipping / receiving parts.
This is not counting my labor de-burring, fitting and assembling components. I settled for a 1/16 twist barrel twist instead of having a custom barrel made. I didn’t want an additional expenditure.
I fired 50 rounds though the carbine to check for function and I am sending the Carbine out for Cerakote next week with some other components. Figure at least $150.00 to $250.00 additional cost for coating on top of all above - Another 1.5 – 2.5 hours cleaning returned parts, shimming / fitting the barrel and final assembly.
In my opinion way too much for a 40SW semi-auto Kalifornia 16” barreled carbine. Yah, I know 40SW but this is what I’m set up for. I have more in this than I do in other rifle caliber builds. I figure 1250 - 1300FPS with 155/165 Gr projectile after some load development. I assembled this carbine specifically for local 3Gun events. Hopefully I won’t be disappointed but I figured my original budget to be around $800.00 not including a Reflex or Red dot.

SO - What have ya got in yours?

I dont keep track of $$$$ for a build. I build it the way i want.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
      I'm Back.

Yeah, anywhere from 275 up to 1k+. 1k+ are all in medium calibers. All AR15 I have are under 500. Haven't seen a reason for it to get any higher other than cosmetics or LR applications.

You forgot to include future time wasted on this site when you come in wondering why this "gun" you built doesn't work.
