    Scope Ideas

I need some input on what's hot right now for target-type rifle scopes. I need suggestions for my Ruger#1 .30-06 project gun.

You might want to mention a budget.

If money is no concern, Leupold MK IV ER/T series is still one of my favorites. Nightforce is also popular.

Don't overlook Bushnell Elite series or Nikon Monarch series scopes. They are very good scopes for the money. Good value.

        Oooops...

I'm thinking $500 or so. I own a couple Leupolds, and I don't know that they are that much superior to other less expensive options. IMHO, $500 or less should get me a quality scope.

My primary use for this rifle will be medium to long-range informal target shooting. The barrel I'm having installed is a 24" medium/heavy profile in .30-06.

That's what I'm looking for! I will check these out. I have a Nikon ProStaff on my .22/250. I have not looked at the Bushnell Elite but I will now.
