What distance are you planning to shoot? Mine just has a Comp M4S on it.

I have a Trijicon MRO on mine. Originally I put a Vortex 4-16x on, but it made the rifle too heavy... which kinda defeats one of the benefits of the SCAR 17s...which is the light weight. YMMV

What is short and mid to you? 100-300 yards? 50-100? Short for an AR is 25-50, for a .308 I would push it out more.

I say throw a Trijicon 1-6 or the new 1-8 and that should cover anything you consider "mid range"

TA31ECOS: Trijicon ACOG 4x32 Flat Dark Earth, something similar to this do you think I can use this for 308? Or any similar to this combo for 308?

I've had a VCOG on mine for about 6 months. No problems so far.

Also tried Burris Veracity 5-25x50 for longer range shooting as well. Again, no issues.
Too many rifles, not enough time...

If you use it just from the bench any high power with a good warranty and good glass would be well worth it. Maybe even a VORTEX AMG 6-24... but that's a little rediculous for a SCAR...but it would be fun.
I have a tA11 on my SCAR 17. I think it's a great optic for that rifle. Seems that a lot of people go the ACOG route w their SCARs. Keeps it very light which is whole reason I kept my SCAR in first place over other semi .308's I had that were heavier-- not as precise as say a 4-16x etc but still fun to shoot with at mid range distances. Battle rifle set up guess you'd call it.

I also have a Trijicon TR24G- the 1-4x Trijicon scope that came out many yrs ago, on my LMT AR15- I absolutely love that scope for 1.1x (or whatever it is) that triangle really pops at 100 yards and just memorize or right down the clicks for longer shots, can even use the triangle for holdovers.

Although these days there are a lot of newer 1-6x type scopes w full BDC that look really great. But the Trijicon is built like a tank and love the fact that green triangle pops out for both eyes open 200 yards and in , picks up targets almost as quickly as my Aimpoint PRO or Eotech.

But the newer 1-6x or 1-8x scopes out there I think are great for the SCAR 17 as well-- others more knowledgeable than me will know the actual ones that are best these days. Good luck OP.
