new pmag pictures, analysis anyone?

The PMAG's are designed for M16/AR15/Stoner rifles. The EMAG's are designed to be STANAG compliant.

EMAG's will work in an AR, but PMAGS won't neccesarily work in a non-AR STANAG rifle (like the SA80, AUG w/NATO stock, etc).

Are they making a windowed version of the new PMAG? It looks like the new PMAG doesn't have the slot cut for a window, so are they going with two different molds now or ditching the window entirely?

Window or no window.
Is it just personal preffrence. or is there a reason why people want a window in the Pmag.
do they function differently. or is it just to know you have rounds left before the bolt locks back.

The window is just a quick way to tell that you are <10 rounds. Doesn't make a difference in Cali.

I wonder what the plan is to transition from old to new. I have a lot of PMags marked 02/09 so it appears they are/were making both at the same time. Perhaps they have multiple moulds of the old style and are still pumping those out because demand is so high but will swap over completely to the new style soon.

Where is the date mark?

ETA: Never mind. It's the dial-like stamp with the arrow pointing to the month number and the year number in the center.

keep track of mfg problems.. incase a bunch break, they can easily track down when the problem started, and easier to find out why.

Looks like the ridges on the new ones won't be deep enough to hold the floor plate on if you want to cut them down to ten rounders.

So true. Plus a 10rd can be a pain to remove too so like you said just block a 30rd. Now I need to get some new ones to see what if any practical difference there is.

If i'm limited to ten rounds I don't need the unwanted attention of having a magazine that looks like a 30 rounder. Plus 10 rounders are easier to shoot on a bench.
