I don't remember what they were tagged at so it would be best to call Ron. He had one with wood funature, one in synthetic and one tactical model if I remember correctly.

+1 for Armory Outpost and the VZ58. I got of a couple different ones from Ron.

The NPAP can be pretty solid. As someone else pointed out, you should fully go thru the rifle before shooting it anyway. Mine had a significant amount of shavings and the big thing is to make sure you clean them out of the forward part of the receiver so they dont end up in the gas system from being in all orientations during shipping. No issues at all after some due diligence.

When I have a few min I'm gonna take the grip off my WASR and see how feels to shoulder it. Love my WASR. Probably will end up getting a grip wrap though

Saw the DAS MAG here https://directactionsolutions.net/pr...tyle-magazine/

Still just doing pre-order for the DAS MAG though.

Soon enough there will be different manufacturers being as the MEAN mag folks have built this (AR, but maybe AK in future too):

Am surprised I haven't seen more people marketing 80 percent kits including parts to build completed featureless AK.

Right now for example you can get a 80 percent kit at Juggernaut Tactical for an AR (little pricey) or an 80 percent kit at 80 percent arms (more affordable) - from both companies they sell full rifle kits, not just the 80 percent lower receiver, so that when you are done making your lower receiver you will have everything you need to put together your rifle without going shopping all over the place. At which time you can also make it a featureless build. Which means as an unlicensed individual making it, you have no obligation for serialization or registration.

It is true that it's easier to make your own AR than it is to make AK.

But I wonder if someone has done more than turn a shovel into a featureless build for the AK?

Did some searching, guess what? AK63D parts kits (and some others) are still in stock here. http://armsofamerica.com/partskits-2.aspx

              Flats are here https://ak-builder.com/index.php?dis...oduct_id=29855
Or, better yet: Get a bent Polish receiver blank kit (80 percent) -- No FFL needed to get it sent to your home.
It's in stock as of the time of this comment here: https://ak-builder.com/index.php?dis...oduct_id=30336
Description of bent Polish receiver blank (80 percent - no FFL required) linked above: "It will work with any AK47 1mm stamped parts kit as long as the correct holes are drilled. You can make it a Romanian fixed stock, Polish Underfolder, Romanian Underfolder, Kyber Pass, Maadi, AMD65, AMD63, M92 or anything that has a 7.62 magwell on a 1mm receiver. NO FFL NEEDED - Approved by the ATF as a NON-FIREARM - Includes: A1-31 AK Center Support for 1mm Receivers, AK-Builder Lower Rails"

More flats and build parts for different things https://ak-builder.com/index.php?dis...ategory_id=171

This stuff tends to sell out fast, but there it is for the taking right now. You'd of course need to get your flats (or the bent Polish receiver blank 80 percent), but those are easy to find, and have the right tools and parts...

And be willing to devote time and money because of the cost and effort involved in getting everything you need (tools etc) for the AK build.

Edit: I just saw Centerfire offer up a Romanian MD63 parts kit that comes with a free barrel. But, because Centerfire is always being an idiot, they will not ship a parts kit to California even though it is legal to do so. Bad Centerfire! Bad!
