Replacing a carbon 15 upper with Anderson upper

Long story short: Have Bushmaster Carbon 15, wanted free float barrel, carbon 15 upper has proprietary barrel nut threads, replaced carbon upper for stripped anderson upper.

During the swap i removed the stock barrel nut. The teeth on the nut helped to secure the gas tube from moving side to side. Now, the tube goes straight from the lowprofile gas block and straight into the upper "X" looking opening on the anderson upper.

Is it ok to not have the barrel nut teeth securing the tube? Just making sure i'm not missing anything. I would hate to have a pressure issue, or risk the tube moving. Heres a pic of what i'll be looking at:

Yes, they don't secure the tube, it is just the teeth for the wrench. The gas tube just sits between the teeth. Most low pro rails use a nut similar to the one you have pictured.
