$2,500 is the going rate for F1's custom skelitonized rifles, and while I wouldn't buy one I can appreciate the detail and machining for what it is.

My only point there is they are not trying to overprice a gun by $1,000 just by putting Demo Ranch on there... the guns are just in a different price bracket to begin with.

And yea, Matt and his family seem to be good people and I appreciate someone using youtube for something positive (Vetranch and his whole "saving pets that are on death row" is a more positive and generous thing for this world than I have offered... )

Demolition Ranch? Aren't those the guys who shoot weird crap out of their shotguns? Really, I'm dying to buy a rifle designed by some red-neck idiots playing with their firearms. For $2800 no less.... And who the heck is F1 firearms?

You can buy a SCAR 16 or a Noveske for less and have a better rifle.

I never cease to be amazed what people will buy... Especially if they just slap some paint on it.

A horrifically skeletonized AR in a godawful camo color scheme with some budget stock and optic.....gross.

That price is a joke. You could buy a Colt 6920 and an Aimpoint T2 for less. Or an LWRC IC DI and a T2 for less and have a farrrrr better rifle. Heck you could throw a Knights SR15 upper with a T2 on a lower of your choice and still be below $2700.

That "red-neck idiot" is a single person, not a group of people? and Matt Carriker is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, who owns and operates a veterinary clinic in Texas. His entertaining gun related Youtube clips helped him obtain a fan-base which allowed him to use his popularity for a good cause. He created a YouTube channel (VetRanch) that funds projects through add revenue where he adopts injured animals in kill shelters, performs medical procedures on them, has them rehabilitated and works with animal adoption agencies to find them homes. On his dime, not yours or mine.

If something is not your style, that's fine, move on. But to rip on an individual with NO knowledge or background, that prejudice does not help society in any way.

As I mentioned before, the F1 firearms are expensive novelty guns, the prices of these guns are not reflected by the "Demo Ranch" tag, but instead by the over-the-top machining that goes into their parts to make them stand out from standard AR's.
Are they practical? No.
Are they something that everyone is going to think of as cool? no.
but if dozens of hours of custom machining is your definition of "slapping some paint on it" that's your bad.

Don't like F-1 products? that's fine, your not their demographic.

If you think the price is too high, then you probably just don't understand the value. Not to sound elitist, but in the operator circles I run in, there is no place for off brand pedestrian brand guns or built to fail frankenbuilds. We run our guns hard, often 100 - 150 rounds in ONE DAY. The schwag that comes with the gun isn't a huge deal, but it does earn you the operator nod from the other operators when you have the logo'd polo, ball cap, and stickers on your ammo cans.

Yes, red-neck. It is entertainment, but its not a good example for people who don't know much about firearms. I would criticize it even if it was 'The Little Sisters Of The Poor' raising money.

What he raises money for is irrelevant. So get off your holy horse and look at the bad name it gives gun owners. It does more damage to our cause than good for his pet projects.
