Yeah, $1199, $500 off. They also had a deal on an XD45 for $329 if you bought any centerfire rifle in stock. The XD45 wasn't on my gotta-get list, but at that price (-$160 off) I went ahead and got one to match my XD9. Not a bad gun by any means.Comment

We know most of the guys at the Turners we bought it from and they said that the Wed special was about $300 less than what they could have bought it for at their employee discount. I wasn't in the market for an M1A but at that price I sure was that day.Comment

Have you given any thought to trying out the iron sights OP?
M1A's and M1 Garands have very good iron sights and learning how to adjust them for different distances and bullet weights is part of learning the rifle.
Congrats to the guy's who scored on that Turners M1A Scout deal. That was a smokin' deal on a great rifle and if I didn't already one I would have jumped on it too!Last edited by Paseclipse; 04-02-2017, 11:59 AM.

I have been using that rifle for over a decade, and will say that while the Leopold 2.5 is a very sturdy optic, I think it's limit is around 200 yards of most hunting applications. I quickly discovered this when I installed one, and while it is fantastic for engaging our club's movers at 100 & under, I eventually moved up to a conventional mount & optic as my eyes started to fade around age 47.
The issue of eye-relief vs magnification should be considered, as the higher magnifications will be harder to manage.
Best bet may be to find someone who has the optic you are considering and actually doing some shooting, not from a bench.Comment

I cant wait.. i pick mine up next Saturday.
They were sold out when I got there, but they special ordered two more (and honored the sales price) and I got one. It came in a couple days ago. People hate on Turners, but I've bought at least 10 guns there over the years and never had any issues. And the fact that they honored the $1200 price for a ordered gun was just awesome.sigpicComment
