Tap-Rack-Bang... it's ingrained and I immediately perform it without even thinking (can't help it - f-ing marines)

If you haven't already done so, check out the Cross Armory system. Easy to disconnect the receivers. Separate them just enough to satisfy the law and the mag automatically drops. Reconnect the receivers by just snapping them together. Remove the empty mag hold open on the bolt catch and you can reload about as fast as with a bullet button. The biggest negative is that the parts are mounted on the outside of the receivers where they can get in the way.

Nothing is going to compare to an original style button, so from that stand point featureless is the way to go. But if you want to keep most of the classic features and ergonomics of the AR without having to register it, something like this is a good alterative.

If I am ordering a BCM upper, I usually do one of their charging handles. But I don't really care about it. I would rather spend money on a trigger.

Normally the changing handle are working fine. Only reason for me to change it because I have long range scope install, which it make hard to grab the changing handler

If the scope on it gets in the way, I upgrade it. If it just has a red dot or iron sights, I leave it alone. Sometimes the big latch ones can snag on clothing or gear.

If I have a scope going on the rifle I buy a 18$ billet handle and a $12 extension. Punch the roll pin and replace. While I do own a few raptors I'm over spending that kind of money for a CH

Save your money. Just use mil spec.

For a item that sees little use. This gets plenty of attention and cash for upgrades...

What is funny is most people with aftermarket charging handles probably paid more for it than their trigger
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

I think that's about as useful as upgrading the forward assist button on the AR-15, so no, I use the mil-spec one that came with the rifle.

I have a $50 titanium one on the rifle in my avatar, it's "low drag" they say!

Really I just bought it because it was silver and shiny. I haven't even tried pushing it.

I spent extra for a Tear Drop FA(OG Mil Spec) because they work better and I prefer the old school look. But I will probably not be using that much, if at all. lol

Factory LMT. just barely larger than "milspec" with a slight bit of texture. Works for me. Larger ones tend to get caught on kit
