Had a lot of success over the years dry-firing my pistols at home, definitely saw improvement from about 30 minutes, once a day of dry-fire drills at home. Now that I've been moving more into rifle shooting lately, I wanted to see if there was any similar exercises I could do at home. Any suggestions guys?

Once a week slung up on the living room floor sitting Indian style keeps me good and loose once I get to the range. I put a dime on the barrel out near the flash hider to stay smooth with trigger squeezes.Comment

With a background in competitive rifle marksmanship,I find dry firing boring,I shoot more competitions, which in my opinion is the best form of practice.Keep it simple!Comment

That seems to go against the conventional wisdom of Bullseye, High power, and Smallbore competition. Even IDPA and IPSC style competion seems to advocate dryfire draw and aquire sight picture.Comment

Pistol yes but only because I'm acquiring sight picture/sight alignment as I dry fire.
I don't do this at all with a rifle so the only time I pull the trigger on that thing is when I'm actually live firing. Will I notice a difference if I began dry firing at home? I don't believe so at all.Originally posted by longrange1my gun shoots better with shiny brass...plus not only does the shiny brass make me look like a pimp at the range if the sun catches it just right it blinds the guy next to me which improves my odds of winning the match.Originally posted by XDJYoFull size.
