With my MOE, all I did was removed the cross pin that the polymer adjuster pushes up or down. Then I inserted a round plastic paint brush handle, and trimmed it to natch the round plunger profile. Had to insert something or block the hole where the cross pin was, if not, the spring will go in a little deeper and may not have enough tension to keep the plunger in place.

Now Im not sure if there is any requirements that the stock needs to be pinned with roll pins or rivets. Anyone?

I think the whole point is to NOT have to buy another stock.

What I'd be concerned with is the fact that you could take a screw driver or any pointed object and pry that pin down, and then adjust the stock. That might still be viewed as an adjustable stick by an anti-gun LEO and DA.

YOU CAN PIN YOUR STOCK WITH A PAPERCLIP. NO NEED TO SPEND ANY MONEY.

One paperclip does 3-4 stocks. Put it through the hole that is highlighted in yellow. Once it is through the hole, clip and bend it on both sides so that it doesn't move. If you are the super paranoid type, tape or put some RTV over it.

          Done.

our pin accomplishes something similar and is very consistent. You wont need to drill anything and you can keep in all your original parts (minus the plunger) if you like.

This is excellent, do you have something similar for SOPMOD stocks as well?

I put tape on the buffer tube before putting the stock back in and pinning it. No more wobble.

We have our "M4" stock pin coming that will work will all the sopmod stocks. I believe it will be late this week.

My 3d printed pin sheared off when I banged the end on the ground. I drilled through the original metal pin.

To the paper clip solution: I personally think it's best to take off all of the parts so it does not look adjustable at all.

Yup, the polymer just won't hold up. We thought about making them from aluminum too but we felt it would be best to be as close to an OEM part as possible.

Re: the paper clip option.. well,, to each their own. I think we priced our solution to be reasonable with no compromise in materials and functionality. I would say ~$9 is worth the price of admission for some peace of mind. Please don't take this as me saying this is the end all be all. As the saying goes,,, more than one way to skin a cat..

It is a possiblity that a a person or cop can break the pin or paper clip while fiddling with it. The real question should be, is it easy to remove the paperclip without a tool? It probably is.

Exactly. An anti-gun LEO and DA will just pull that paper clip right out of there. But each person has to follow their own level of comfort.

Personally, 9 bucks for the hardened steel pin is worth it.

cheapest way would be taking the oem pin out and fill the gap/void in the pin and insert it back in.

The pin size to accomplish this should be something like 5/32x5/8" (maybe 3/4") with a little filing to get the fit perfect. It keeps the pin that engages into the buffer tube from moving downward.

Sounds easy enough. As most machinist would tell you ... it's much easier to remove metal then it is to put it back .
