    Cheap rifle mags?

I remember researching the PTR-91 a while back and people raved about its 3-5 dollar mags. It surprised me later to find that CZ handgun mags were like 20 or 30 dollars each (can't remember if it was 20 each or 30 each). Being smaller, I'd have assumed handgun mags would be cheaper, so...realizing that semi-auto rifles may have wildly different prices on their mags, I want to ask here what is the usual price for common SA rifle magazines? Like STANAG, AK mags, sa vz 58, and whatever else is common that I might be forgetting at the moment. Any help educating me on this issue would be very much appreciated.

You could just go to any website that sells magazines and look at all the prices.

The cost isn't in the steel, it's in the manufacturing.

Sometimes you buy what you pay for. Choose wisely. Usually there is a good reason a magazine to be expensive.

Aye. But glancing at a page for a few minutes doesn't quite give you the info on how the prices fluctuate. But from what I did get to see on the calguns marketplace... It seems most mags cost more than 10-15 dollars. Rifle or handgun. :frown:

EDIT: Thank you for the link, NIKSD. Didn't see your post before I posted. Your advice is duly noted. Hope Pmags are reputable enough.

As if they're little tactical nukes, stacked up in "Assault Clips" ready to be "sprayfired" "from the hip" by pistol grip equipped "bullet hoses" instead of early variations of the softpoint bullets people have been using to take game with (and use for self-defense) for the last century.

As zhyla said, manufacturing costs include more than just the price of the base materials used.

There are other costs involved like marketing, R&D, warranty expenses. And a lot of the time you are just paying extra for branding. Mec-Gar branded mags were a lot cheaper than sig factory mags for 226s a few years ago even though Mec-Gar actually made the sig factory mags too! Been a few years since I was into sigs but I doubt that's changed
