    SCAR 17 Rail-Estate

Wasn't sure if I should have necro'ed my thread from two years ago but here it is:

Anyway many moons later after using PWS's SRX rail and then flirting with the idea of the MREX mlok, I decided to stick with the SCAR 17 as the Belgians intended. Only thing is there is precious little room for a vertical grip and a bipod to attach. Am I expecting too much in terms of hand room or do I need something like this:

Which is really $100+ I could be spending on an optic (running a Comp M4S right now but want to go magnified). Thoughts?

Added thought: there's always the grip pod, but I don't know if that's more practical or gimmick.

Someone from FN told me the SCAR was designed by an American, on the back of a napkin.

      No wonder it's amazing.

Depends on what work you set up your SCAR to do. A VFG, bipod, and a red dot don't make too much sense to me together personally (especially crammed into that short rail section). Both PMM and KDG are solid options...

Agreed. Bipod generally means scope (and a VFG would be pointless).

Red dot and VFG go together for more short to medium range shooting, though my experience with VFG's has suggested to me that they don't actually help much. Do look cool though

After looking for options I decided I really don't want to spend the money on the PMM. I figure if I can rotate the optics I can rotate the lower rail attachment too. So VFG and Aimpoint Comp M4 will go together and I'll switch for the bipod when the Nightforce 3.5-15x goes on.

I love this bipod and threw a grip below it. I don't know why I never see this one mentioned. It's awesome. Well made, sturdy, good grip, quick release legs and a rail section.

How is there not enough space? I have about 3 or 4 xtm rail covers behind my bipod.
