I don't like it but anything that allows people to keep their target rifles without registering them with Newsome & Karmela is a win to me.

Yep! We still have 11 months to go, and each new product seems to be raising the bar a bit. Eventually, someone will come up with a design that flows like a traditional stock, and it will be game over.

Found a few more pics of what looks to be the new thordsen.

Another interesting find down in the depths of the lower floor of Shot Show 2017 is Excel Arms. They make a line of firearms chambered in .22LR, .22WMR and now 5.7x28mm.It uses the Five Seven pistol magazine to feed the blow back system.

Obviously it would need to be a bit different in an AR config, but you get a pretty good idea from the pics.

            Hexrob,
What BigBamBoo was getting at is there are different laws for grips and stocks. If the thordsen unit was only a grip, it would fall under the "grip" laws.

Under the grip laws, the thordsen unit's angle and position would not be compliant. The web of your hand (between thumb and index finger) when grasping the "stock" is below the "top of the trigger opening".

Since the entire assembly is considered a stock, its not subject to grip requirements.

Exactly what I was thinking about gen 2 and 3. I much prefer gen 3 on appearance though.

Grip angle looks close to the same. I have three of the Gen II's and gunna have to continue to like them.

Not the case. The definition of "pistol grip" requires that it not only protrude beneath the action but that it ALSO allows your thumb and index webbing to drop below the top trigger line. This is why the Hammerhead is not a pistol grip.

The person who asked why can't they just release it without the stock element, asks a good question, one that has been asked many times before. I believe they could if they wanted to, but because people are confused by the law, like this guy ^, it's safer to just release it as a stock.

Stay tuned however - I believe there's a mossberg 500 grip adaptor coming out which will allow you to mount a duckbill grip.

They had one on display (older version) at turners yesterday, and must admit I liked the way it felt.

Still looks stupid and I would never own one, but I prefer the Hera CQB if forced to choose between the unconstitutional design series.

This looks better to me... (just need to snap in the block between the grip when in-state, behind enemy lines).

That looks like a rifle buffer tube attached to the AR with the Gen III. I was hoping it had a shorter LOP, but no dice.

I wish they sold a version of their stock that came like this:

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

That is part of the intent according to what is written in the OP's attachment.
