    Hexmag .308 Mags

Just putting the final touches on my first AR308 build and saw that Hexmag is coming out with a 20-round 308 mag. Anybody have any info on whether they'll have a CA legal version in 10/20? Everything I've seen just talks about a standard 20 round, no shipping to CA...

Also, new to the forums here, so don't roast me too hard for being a noob!

Most times the mag blocking is done by a third party. Also do yourself a favor and just buy the magpul.

I wouldn't buy the Gen 1's until someone else has tried them out .

The Gen 1 Hexmags were horrible. Hopefully they learned their lessons.

          Hexmag .308 Mags

I have a hard time finding 10/20 (window) or 10/25 (window). Matter of fact, I haven't been able to get one yet.

Check out Calegalmags.com there is a select few right now but the majority is out of stock. They recently had a lot in stock but sold out quicker than I was ready to place an order. You can subscribe for updates on whichever mags that you want and they will contact you once it is back in stock. They carry Magpul and Hexmag as well.

Usually the cost savings of Hexmags are outweighed by the frustration of using them.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Ok all 308 AR do not work well with Magpuls. I suggest the DPMS or Lancers but I would not try the 1st gen Hex's either. Wait for the reviews.

                Thank for the feedback gents.

I went with Magpul Pmags and Furniture on my recent 556 build based on research and reputation, and have ZERO complaints.

I know Hexmag had some issues with their Gen 1 AR15 mags, but it sounded like they sorted much of that out on their Gen 2 stuff. I'm hoping that they're applying what they've learned there to the upcoming 308 mags, but I see the point about not wanting to be the guinea pig.

                Cheers!

I dunno what pattern of 308 your going off of in your build. But the sr25/lr308 magpul mags are great.

All the hexmags I've owned were crap, and trying to be like magpul...

Yes! I have 9 of them (Series 2) and they are all fine.

Why would you Hexmags when Magpul work in .308 Rifle. If snug ,just get Gen 2 ,they are narrow and longer by about 1/8 inch.

                          why would u want a window 10/25 ?

most of the ten rounds will hidden inside the magwell atleast that's my opinion

Print this out and tape it to the inside of the magazine body

You are right, you can't see the rounds in the mags through the window, at least for the .223/5.56 mags. It's strictly personally preference. I like to see the mag spring sometimes :P
