The Magpul fixed carbine stock comes with two different end caps. One is flush and will block the thumb wrap, the other is cut out and clears easily. I have several of those here, they work great and fix tighter than a pinned stock.

I drilled out a small cut into the buffer tube to set it in place at the length I like. Yes, they weight a bit but I also use a pinned MFT stock on the lightweight AR. The Magpul is far more secure.

Yes indeed, a great setup, which has less felt recoil than the AR due to the angled recoil spring.

If interested in cheek weld, look for the Monte Carlo stock version, and note that you'll want your optic lower than on a AR.

        Mine...

        Another with a wood stock...

Thank you Jimi Jah. I picked up a Magpul fixed stock courtesy of a fellow CalGunner (bgarbled is a class-act!) and I tried it.

For future reference, here is my thumb with a Magpul CTR stock:

And here is my thumb with a Magpul fixed stock:

Significantly more clearance with the former.

You won't like it pushed in all the way, it's too short. I drilled a small notch to set mine back to the length I like. You can also add the extended rubber PRS butt pad to get an extra inch or so.

I did the notch thing too. Works great, but I hate dremeling into something that was purpose made and works fine. Maybe we should make a 6 position notched buffer tube for the non adjust magpul stock.
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

                              Jimi Jah,

Honest question: why do you prefer a fixed stock (that you've had to drill) over an adjustable stock that's pinned with a stock lock pin, like this?

Magpul Stock Lock Pin designed for use with California Featureless buttstock configuration.
