Compensator legality question?

As of 2017 did it become illegal to sell flash hiders and compensators in the state of California? Did I happen to miss the memo? Im asking because Opticsplanet canceled my compensator order and told me they are illegal to sell to California?

Not illegal to sell them, just be careful of what you put them on.

I know a flash hider can make a Magical Assault Weapon that fires 30 cal. Magazine clips in 1/2 second.... But a compensator...

That's Optics Planet, scared of their own shadow. They cancelled my order for a DPMS .22LR Upper in July, right after the laws were signed. Even though nothing in any of the laws applied to that purchase, they cancelled it, and didn't want to discuss the details of what was actually in the law.

Their right to refuse business, our right to shop elsewhere if we tire of their BS.

So Exile Machine probably spent $100,000 to defend legally selling mag parts in CA...

The case should have been dismissed as no law was broken...
Feinstein should have been ordered to pay Exiles legal fees...

Instead of spending $500k and up for the win, excile stopped selling mag parts to CA....

And then CA has dumb laws city by city and county by county...

Same reason why cal guns has 100 posts a day- titled- is this legal in CA?

I just bought 2 KAW Valley Precision (KVP) Linear Comps for JoeBob's. I don't why it took me so long to discover linear comps. The noise reduction is noticeable over the A2
The KVP gets great reviews online as well.

Linear comps rule, if you want to preserve your hearing. They do little for recoil or muzzle rise but my ears sure like them. The models with removable sleeves let you choose less noise or less recoil/rise.

I watched Michel & Associate's CRPA webinar yesterday (link below) and it was very helpful in understanding a lot of the new changes proposed by CA DOJ including the re-definition of flash suppressor. They said CA DOJ re-worded the definition of flash suppressor to something like the following.

“Flash suppressor” means any device attached to the end of the barrel, that is designed, intended, or functions to perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter’s field of vision. A hybrid device that has either advertised flash suppressing properties or functionally has flash suppressing properties would be deemed a flash suppressor. A device labeled or identified by its manufacturer as a flash hider would be deemed a flash suppressor.

They expressed in the webinar how vague this definition is (and i can see why) and how it is problematic for interpretation. On another note, I tried buying various AR parts (new grip, AFG, etc) from CheaperThanDirt and they too would not sell to me. Suffice to say, I found another source that would.

I highly recommend watching all 2+ hrs of the video (as i found it useful).

As with many companies outside of our borders. They punish us because they do not understand our laws.

While it is hard to blame them for not knowing the laws of the foreign communist country known as Kalifornia. Yes, it still angers us to know they are helping the antis vs hindering them.

You're better off buying from vendors who take the time to learn our crazy laws... and not deal with the others...
