Does anyone know if an RPK-74 gas block will fit and work/function properly on an RPK-47 barrel?

The 74 gas block is a 90 degree model... The 47 is the 45 degree type... So I don't think so because the holes are in a different place..
If the barrel is not yet drilled it would work, as you would be drilling your own gas hole...
Journal size might also be an issue.Poke'm with a stick!

It seems to me that all you would have to do is to measure the port diameter. As long as the smallest diameter is the same as the 47 it should be okay. If the 74 is smaller, just drill it out. I have drilled and tapped gas blocks and threaded them to take a set screw that was then drilled to the proper port size when I had to correct an over gassing issue.
If the diameter of the 74 gas block is too small to fit the barrel, you can ream it to size.Last edited by highpower; 01-05-2017, 6:16 PM.MLC member.
