    Sig 716 patrol buttpad help

I bought a Sig 716 patrol back in July. Love the way it shoots but would like to soften the recoil by updating the buttpad. I still have to replace the A2 birdcage so I'm bound to get some relief that way as well. I just got off the phone with Sig and they don't make buttpad replacements for the model I have.

I'm looking for suggestions, especially if anyone knows where I can simply buy a pad that bolts onto this stock. I'd prefer not to have a slip-on cover as those usually look cheesy and there isn't much area for one to grip onto. I currently have the stock off as I plan on pinning it to go featureless and would rather avoid having to buy a fixed stock as that would require a new tube. That said, a better stock would give me the option to attach a monopod.

    Thoughts?

Do not try and bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth...there is no spoon.

Guess this was a bit of a stumper for everyone else too!

Since this has a milspec tube, I swapped a collapsible stock I had lying around. It happens to have a thick buttpad with an integral monopod. I removed the adjustable pin and replaced it with a screw as described in this thread so as it make it a fixed stock (I adjusted the length of pull further after I took these pics). Now I can focus on a muzzle device and grip wrap!
