    Ps90 maintenance

    Hey guys

I'm new to the PS90 and trying to clean up a PS90 I recently acquired.

After disassembling the rifle I found there is quite a bit of build up on the inside of the fake barrel suppressor, can someone give a recommendation what I should do to clean this up? I think this isn't exclusive to the PS90, but it's the first time I've encountered this much stuff buildup on a barrel.

    Thanks for your time.

Nylon brush will scrub that crap away.

It's worked for me for many years. Really though, a dirty rifle has some character to it

That's just all the crud that builds up when the gasses have nowhere to go. The end of a barrel (brake or flash hider adapter) will look the same when a suppressor is removed.

Gun cleaning solvent and some elbow grease should take it right off.

Just a question and possibly an FYI- shouldn't that extension be pinned/welded? I thought that was the objective. To make the barrel permanently longer.

Thanks sleep and kwik, that's peace of mind for me.

              FNP

Pinned and welded is for a barrel that is under 16". In the case of many bullpups like a tavor or ps90 where the barrel is already 16" or longer you're basically adding the faux suppressor or rail extension to meet the OAL of 30" for the entire rifle in CA (OAL outside CA is 26"). When you're taking it down for maintenance, to my knowledge it's fine.

I think your reference is to barrels you find for example on an AR that are 14.5 and they weld and pin the compensator to meet the 16" barrel length requirement in CA. That's where that rule is applied.
