If you are trying to convert it to featureless then yes you need to remove a flash hider-type muzzle device and either add a muzzle break or nothing at all. If you plan on registering your rifles as AW's then you can leave it on

If your rifle has a detachable magazine, it counts as a feature and makes the weapon as a whole an AW. If the magazine is fixed as defined by law, it is fine to keep. The device itself is not illegal. Whether or not it came with the rifle from the factory has no bearing on anything.

As tocino was asking, what is your plan for 2017?

Are you going to register or go featureless. Your current configuration is compliant for 2016 but may or may not be depending on your plan for 2017.

There are multiple ways to be CA Compliant. If you plan to register you don't need to do anything (outside of register).

Sorry not sure what you mean by "pp".
One thing to be careful about is if you have a 14.5 in barrel with a suppressor pinned in to make it 16 inch then don't try to crank the suppressor off with a wrench.

              Oh boy...

If you want to keep the flash suppressor(being factory or aftermarket has nothing to do with it), then you need to modify the rifle to have a fixed magazine since a bullet button no longer counts as a fixed mag.

If you want to go featureless, the flash hider is a feature and needs to be removed.

If you want to register it as an assault weapon, then in theory it shouldn't make a difference.
