    "Finless" Monsterman Grip?

I've been looking at a Monsterman Grip and see that the grip is tilted back, unlike the standard AR15 pistol grip.
So, since it resembles a cutoff standard stock, why wouldn't it be acceptable (legal) without the 'Fin" on it?
I' have sent an email to Monsterman about this and have not had a reply...yet.

    What do you think?

You would be able to wrap your thumb around it and would make it pretty much a pistol grip. Might be okay, but why risk it?

You need to read up on the definition of Pistol grip and pistol style grasp. The fin keeps the web of the hand above the exposed portion of the trigger.

        d) “pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon” means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top exposed portion of the trigger while firing
Everything you ever wanted to know on this can be found right here on the Monsterman sight:

Are we talking about this "Monsterman Grip"?
Not sure how you would wrap your thumb around it since you grip it from the underside??

I think he just wants a pistol grip at an angle like the monsterman, but doesn't get that it's the fin on the back that prevents it from being a pistol grip.

Ahhh . . . I think an angled pistol grip might be skirting the edge a bit. Since we don't know for sure, still hard to say, but with the "fin" there is no way to wrap, so that might give us some lead way.

Wouldn't it just be like the Thordsen stock without the shoulder piece at that point?

A MMG without the fin is just a poorly angled pistol grip

The fact that it is a stock is a huge part of it's argument as not to being a pistol grip.

I would personally feel comfortable using it and not be afraid it could be mistaken as a pistol grip. There are many options. Go with what you are comfortable using and comfortable understanding/explaining why it's not considered a pistol grip

If you run the Monsterman on a carbine buffer tube with a pinned stock then you can wrap your thumb OVER THE TOP of the grip and get a pistol grip LIKE feel that's totally legal since your thumb is higher than the trigger.
