Ledesma Arms Featureless California Compliance Conversion Kit

My Grandson built an AR15 using an 80% lower.
I would like to get him whatever parts necessary to allow it to be "featureless".

Does the Ledesma Arms Featureless California Compliance Conversion Kit meet the new regs for "featureless"?

Thanks guys in advance for your thoughts and Happy Holidays!

I first found the kit on Armslist, I am very interested but didn't want to blow up the product by posting it here just yet.

I am very skeptical, yet highly interested.

I hope so, I like. But is it going to take a test case to get a judgement on this, I hope not. From the looks of the grip there is no way you can grab it as a pistol grip because of the angle, it would take your trigger finger completely out of line with the trigger to activate it.

I'm not convinced the web of the hand would necessarily be above the top of the trigger. If it is, though, that grip would be perfectly compliant with the regulation.

And yet ... doesn't that grip look like it pivots down?

I watched video and yes it will pivot to farthest rear position then you lock it down with allen screw provided.

130.00 for the kit seems steep when you can order a exile hammerhead grip from amazon for 29.99 free shipping and a .10 roll pin from ace hardware to pin any collapsible stock and any 15.00 muzzle brake from ebay and we know the hammerhead grip is good with cdoj.

You can buy just the grip by itself for $38.00. I thought the same thing when I first saw the grip on their website but then saw there was different types of kits. That expensive kit comes with stock and a muzzle break.

This has been seen by the department of justice and they have deemed it a rifle not pistol because the web of your hand is above that trigger line.

Does anyone have any documentation to that effect?

I have emailed them and asked them for a letter from the DOJ or any documentation they have to that effect. If we can get it I believe this is a great option.

Its similar to the thorsden frs ut it doesnt have the hideous stock.

^ would be interesting if that documentation was shared. I came across this grip elsewhere and it's very comfortable and controllable, but like others didn't want to blow it out as cgn tends to self police new products into oblivion before they even get a chance.

If it ends up being legit though it'll becomes a go-to grip very quickly.

You won't get documentation, because DOJ doesn't do that.

Maybe a DOJ employee saw it and agreed that it's compliant with the definition, but the department doesn't "deem" anything compliant or noncompliant in any kind of official way.

The CGN community tends to have a better understanding of the issues involved than many manufacturers, and isn't influenced by a profit motive.

Yeah, they got things on lock by the looks of it.

Agreed, but unfortunately I think we often nit-pik things to death and perhaps out of being overly cautious come up with arguments against products that perhaps even the gun grabbers wouldn't have thought of. The bottom line is that the California laws suck, truly making law breakers out of law abiding citizens.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.
