Milled 80%- selector won't clear back of trigger

Just finished milling an 80% Arms lower using an Easy Jig.

Everything looked good until I tried to install the selector. The selector won't clear the back of the trigger. You can see the trigger when you look through the selector hole.

I milled the pocket to the depth on the Easy Jig gauge and I assume the selector hole is in the right place on the jig. Is it likely I need to mill the pocket a little deeper?

Try putting the selector in first and then slipping the triggers tail under it.
Build it and see if you can flip the safety on and off.
If you can (and it passes function tests) you are GTG
If you can not turn the safety (or the trigger is not acting or resetting properly ) then you need to mill deeper.
Got a caliper to see what the actual depth is?

Try pushing the hammer down and pulling the trigger.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

No calipers handy. I've got a clear ruler to "eyeball" it. looks to be just a tad deeper than 1 1/16th.

Trigger and hammer function. I had the hammer back when I tried to install the selector.

            Found the depth specs. 1.249" + 0.010".
            Guess I'm going deeper.

Remember that rulers don't start at zero right at the edge generally...

Harbor freight has cheap digital calibers that will work good enough for this and other uses..

What is a ruler? What you're referring to is called a scale. If you call it a ruler in a machine shop you'll get crucified.

                  Yup.

A "ruler" is a non-elected leader of the people.
"Rule" will generally get a pass

I had this issue with one of my 80% lowers. Not a big deal. Just put the selector first and then install the trigger/hammer assembly. It functions as it should.

                        Go deeper...

                        THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID lol

But seriously, you need to mill a little bit more. Just use the trigger hole as a starting point. It happened to me with my first lower.

gotta go a hair deeper. had the same issue. jig it back up mill off a bit more and test FCG again, should run fine once the floor gets into spec.

Deeper was the answer. Everything installs/works now.

I just needed some encouragement it was ok to go past what the jig directed.

                              Thanks for the help.
