I picked up my m1a rifle and would like to start cleaning and apply grease and oil to it. What grease would you recommend? I saw lubriplate was good to use. What do you use?

Don't have an M1A but I do have a Garand. I use Lubriplate 105. It's great stuff.

Lubriplate is the military grease. However, any good grade of wheel bearing grease will work just fine. Personally, I'm using moly wheel bearing grease in all my Garands and M14s. A tube of wheel bearing grease will go a long way.

I have 2, M1-A's. I bought a can of the Mil-Spec Lubriplate, and used it with good results. Now I switched to Weapon Shield Lithium Grease. It seems to have better staying power and lubricating qualities. I use less and it does seem to last longer.

I've been using the same can of Grease, Rifle for 35 years.

In my opinion, any lube is better than firing an M1 Garand or M1A dry, and I have fired both rifles dry withouty any adverse affects. I have been using the same can of wheel bearing grease for 15 years, you use so little and I clean off the old grease when I clean the rifle, so the grease that I put on the rifle does not have a chance to collect dirt and other debris, and it is not used for any length of time where it begins to break down.

Moly wheel bearing grease from autozone. LubrI plate is fine, but auto grease is also fine and less cost.

Me too! Well not quite as long but it seems like it. I use it on me Lee Enfield too. great stuff, good staying power.

Lubriplate 130. One tub will last you a lifetime. I like the MilComm TW25 as well.

I use Tetra gun grease so far so good. And Motul full synthetic as lube.
